This happened tonight, and when I was done being the biggest DG fangirl, I took a moment to realized how awesome it is that I share a sisterhood with some amazing women, Cori Wallace included.
After watching Half the Sky last night and tonight I’m left amazed and inspired by not only Delta Gamma women but women all over the world who strive to do good and help people in need. It’s a really strange concept to me to think that not all people are always treated equally. (I’m glad I was born in the time I was, because if I was born in the 1800s or mid 1900s, I would have gone CRAZY.) To think about the unfairness and despair that millions of women across the country live with every day makes me insanely irate. But instead of letting that anger build up inside of me to a point of debilitation, I think it’s time to do something about the problem. I know I can’t drop everything and join the Half the Sky team and fly out to Africa right now, but I know that I can spread awareness and get people talking about it.
“If you don’t listen, we’ll keep talking. We’re not tired at all.”
I’m proud to be a part of an organization that supports fair treatment of, education for and opportunities for all women. TDH.
I drove all the way up to Boston last weekend to visit my bestie along with two of my other friends and had the BEST weekend. There’s a reason we’re friends sisters, and just because we no longer attend the same university and live in the same town state that isn’t going to change. I love these girls with everything I have and miss them incredibly so already.
And yes, that is a unicorn statue. No, I didn’t purchase it.
LYLAS and LITB always.
Side note: sort of fell in love with Boston. I have SUCH a weakness for pretty landscapes.
I just discovered my dad’s professional status pictures from our friend’s wedding last month. These are just a few of my favorites but there are some really funny pictures in there. It was absolutely one of the best times I’ve ever had.
My formal was last weekend and it was absolutely one of the best weekends I’ve had in a long time. I love my sisters and my date was super chill and it was just a crazy fun weekend.
Got to meet Mike Adams today! He’s a safety who just got signed to the Denver broncos. He grew up in Paterson, NJ which is an awfully dangerous city in my area, and played football for university of Delaware 10 years ago. He was a human services major, so my teacher cancelled our 3:30 class so we could go see Mike’s presentation at 4. It was so awesome. He’s such a down to earth guy. And the stuff he’s been through is just…crazy. And he does so much good for the community that never helped him and had such a negative influence on his life. He’s really making a difference. And he’s going to help so many kids in Paterson that go through the same stuff he went through. I’m so excited to see the good he will do. Rising-starsfoundation.org

Ara, Anne, me, Marc Elliot, Danielle, and my little after Marc’s presentation called “What Makes You Tic.” Honestly the best speaker I’ve ever listened to in all my CAP-going years. Live and let live; you only live once.
